Crocheted Preemie Baby Set

HM_000110One of the things I’ve been working on this summer is to crochet baby sets for preemies in our local NICU hospital.  I’m going to be crocheting all through July-August-September.  Every year, I try to do something for them in remembrance of the two sons we lost, Daniel (1996) and Gabriel (2006).  This year’s project is to crochet as many of these sets as I possibly can, plus extra hats.  This is such an easy project and it doesn’t take more than about 2-3 days to complete a full set.  The full set consists of a hat, a kimono and a set of booties.  The pattern are super simple and perfect for beginners!  Here are links to the patterns I used:

Kimono - http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/angelcrafts/patterns/preemiekimono.html  About this pattern, I had to make some changes and notes because the pattern is not as clear as I would have liked.  Here are the changes I made:

Where it says row 3, this should be rows 3-6, Row 5 should be row 7, Row 6 should be row 8, Row 7 should be row 9, Row 8 should be row 10, Row 9 should be rows 11-29.  Hope this makes sense!

Booties - http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/angelcrafts/patterns/tinybooties.html  I also had to make some changes and notes to this pattern because it’s got some mistakes.  Here are the changes I made

In the foundation row, it states that you “then 1 hdc in each of next 4 ch”  It is actually the next 5 ch.  This needs to be changed on both sides of the round, as well as in round 2.

Here are some additional pictures of the set:
