I started this afghan while Marty was in the hospital and have been working on it sporadically since.

It’s just your basic ripple afghan, but I’ve been wanting to make one to put on the back of our love seat for some time. Plus, it helped keep my hands busy while Marty was in the hospital.

I just printed off a pattern from the internet, but I didn’t realize it was going to be so big! This thing is going to be huge! The width is 70 inches! I’ve already got 3 full skeins in it and am working on the 4th. I’m going to have to really stock up on this color, because I bet it’s going to take at least 12 skeins to get it to the length it needs to be!

Here it is sitting on the seat of my love-seat. Folded in half, it’s nearly as long as the two bottom cushions! It’s going to be the perfect size for a couple of people to sit on the love-seat and cuddle!
So, I continue to plug away at it a little each day. It may take me all year to finish it, but I’ll eventually get it done. In the mean-time, I’m going to stock up on that yarn, I’ll probably get 18 skeins total, just to be safe. I’ll always find a way to use up any of the extra
I took Marty to the kidney doctor’s today and his kidneys are back to normal!!! Yippee!!! All is well and he can now get off light duty work. He’s REALLY happy about that. I’m just so excited that the doctor gave him a clean bill of health!
Today, I’m going to tinker around the house. I need to get a couple of loads of laundry done and make a few phone calls. Pretty dull day around here…lol! Last night we had a pretty good sleet storm and everything was frozen this morning when we got up. But the roads were pretty clear…I only hit one really slippery part. It’s beautiful outside right now though. It’s so clear and sunny!
Well, I need to go out and get the mail and get busy for the day. I just wanted to let y’all know our praise report in regards to Marty’s health!!
It’s been another warm day here!! I’m actually sweating (or do ladies “glisten”…lol)!! Here’s what I have on today:

I’ve gotten a new little collection going as well…knee socks. I just love these things, especially the really cute ones. They are great to wear in the winter to help keep your legs warm under skirts/dresses, but they are also a LOT more comfortable than tights or panty-hose. I just bought 2 really cute pairs at Walmart last night, here’s the ones I wore today:

Aren’t they just too cute! They’re heart argyle socks. I also got a really cute pair of striped ones that are white, light pink, hot pink and gray. I have the perfect pink t-shirt I can wear them with! Anyway, they are my new “thing”. I just wish I could find more of the really cute decorated ones, most of mine are solid colors (white, cream, navy, & black).
Also a while back, some one asked me how long my hair had gotten, so I took a picture of it while I could still talk Colt into taking pictures of me
Teenagers are not real thrilled with taking pictures of their Mom’s outfits!

Today, I also hit a garage sale and managed to get some really good books! I’m a total sucker for garage sale books! Here are the titles I got:
- Geometry for Dummies by Wendy Arnone, PhD – $0.25
- A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L’Engle (part of the Wrinkle in Time series) – $0.25
- Beginning Dictionary (this is an old elementary school book, copyright 1952) – $0.50
- Scrap Happy Rugs (crochet rug patterns) – $1
- Singer’s The Perfect Fit (pattern fitting book–Sewing Reference Library) – $1
- The Princes & The Goblin by George MacDonald (hardback) – $1
- Reader’s Digest Step-by-Step Sewing Course – $2
I got them all for only $6, so that wasn’t a bad deal! I’m really excited about the Reader’s Digest Step-by-Step Sewing Course, because it has all sorts of projects I can make for the house…some really cute window coverings and such.
Well, I need to get out of here. I’ve got some things to do before we go out to dinner. My sweet husband is taking us out for dinner! Have a blessed day everyone!

It’s the end of January nearly and lots of other states are freezing, but today, here in Texas it’s 80 degrees! Here’s a picture of what I wore today! It’s a beautiful, warm day here and we’re really enjoying it. Tomorrow is suppose to be as pretty and warm too. I just love living in Texas (except for maybe the heat!)
