I meant to get this posted on Saturday, but we were swamped as usual, so I’m finally getting it up. This is a pictorial Day in My Life that I took this past Friday. Enjoy! =-)
Here I am, all ready to do my errands for the day. The boys and I are about to go meet Marty for lunch.
Now we have arrived at Marty’s shop.
We had to wait a little while, so Colt did a little reading.
Here’s Marty, we’re ready now to go to the grocery store and then to lunch
We stop at David’s to get some money for lunch.
While there, Marty takes a sniff of a pineapple, we usually buy some fruit each Friday.
We arrive at Pizza Inn for lunch, doesn’t the buffet look good!
Riley chows down on some pizza.
Colt with a mouthful!
I’m done eating, now I’m waiting on my fellas with hollow legs to finish up.
This stack of plates and pizza crusts belong to Marty and Colt!
We stop to get gas, Marty fill the car up for me =-)
The gas prices at the store we stopped at.
We take Marty back to work, he’ll be getting off for the day at around 2:30, Riley falls asleep on the way.
I go back to town and take a visit to the post office to mail some Book Mooch and Paperback Swap books.
Our next stop in the library. Riley’s awake now
Riley takes a peek into the library
Riley and Colt make their library selections and sit down to read while I finish up looking for the books we need for homeschool and my own personal reading.
We pick Marty up from work and then head home for a little bit. The leaves are starting to turn, so fall must be just around the corner!
We take a walk in the pasture where we find some buffalo gourds
We also find a patch of passion flowers
Back at the house I take a picture of Marty with a stick in his hair..lol!
Then Marty takes a picture of me =-)
We left the house around 4:00 and headed to Waco to run some errands. Our first stop was the Goodwill Store.
Marty found a stainless steel platter to use for when he’s grilling and Colt found 2 books.
Our next stop was a little hunting store called “The Outhouse”. Riley likes playing with the hunting targets.
AFter the hunting store we stopped at Mardel’s (no pictures) and then went to Lowe’s to get some roofing shingles to repair a couple of leaks in our roof.
Marty loads the shingles in the back of the Suburban. The boxes in the back are some gallon pickle jars we got from freecycling.
After Lowe’s we were all hungry, so we stopped at Ryan’s for dinner.
After Ryan’s we stopped at Walmart for a few things and then came home to watch a movie. That was my Friday!
Kristin over at Homemaker at Heart has presented me with this very lovely award! Thank you so much Kristin! It is so very sweet for you to think about me for this award! You are truly a sweetheart for giving it to me =-)
This week Riley was studying the letter c. We went over the “cuh” sound, as well as words that start with C. This is the lapbook that we created for it.
The front cover of the “c” lapbook.
The inside of the “c” lapbook.
This is a short video tour of the lapbook.
Here are some links to the “C” resources that we used =-)
Here are some pictures of the boys I took today while they were working on their Bible homeschool lessons.
Riley is coloring pieces of Joseph’s coat of many colors. Each piece has a part of a Bible verse on them. WE then cut them out and put them in the correct order and glued them to the Joseph picture.
This is a picture of Colt reading his Bible.
This is a short video of Riley reciting his Bible Memory verse.
Just cover your camera’s flash with a colored sticky note. Any photos taken with the flash will take on the hue of the paper. The effect is extra strange when there’s another light source in the photo.
Here are some pictures I’ve taken using this trick…
Here is a pattern that I use all the time to make dish cloths. It’s quick and easy and oh so pretty!
